New comment from MARGARET MANNING

It is most definitely Biblical as Jesus was doing this much of the time. the danger is that the signs could be mental illness and the difference can be very difficult to detect. I am not a deliverance minister but I am on the diocesan deliverance team. One sign that a person is oppressed by demons is the fact they cannot say the name of Jesus and similar difficulties. Also there has to have been a time when they let the demon in or able to influence them – such as involvement in forbidden practices. This does not add anything to the excellent article on the website shown above.

Is deliverance ministry biblical or bonkers?

There's a title designed to make you read more!. It's not my title, it's the title of an interview, conducted by a Baptist Minister friend of mine (Chris Goswami). It speaks to those of us who have a rational / practical / evidence-based view of Christ and spiritual matters. Chris interviews Jayne Irlam, a Baptist minister who works for Greater Manchester Police as a chaplain and investigative nurse assessing mental-health conditions of people in custody.

It's interesting reading.
www.premierchristianity.com/Blog/Is-deliverance-ministry-biblical-or-bonkers
